Scrolling on social media has become an important part of our life and for every little thing, our hands start chasing our cellphones. It was a few days before when I was scrolling through my Quora profile and come around a question that I could easily relate with my life too. It says "I know what I want to do but I feel demotivated and don't know how to accomplish my goals." There are obviously many other questions which remain unanswered and bother us for day and night.
But, I want you to know that you are not alone in this. We all are stuck at some point in our life. Let me tell you one thing, I was very interested in touring on bikes and there was an internal affirmation that this hobby can satisfy me and although everything was smooth and my job was also good, it took me 3 years to make my first trip from Lucknow to Mukteshwar (UK). So, my friend if you don’t feel motivated about your goals and dreams, there is definitely something that is stopping you from turning your dreams into reality.
Yes, I can definitely tell you ways that can help you break these barriers but before breaking these barriers, you must be aware of what these barriers are. Ok, for knowing these barriers, we will work on an objective approach of answering with YES/NO. Lets begin with the first question- Are you really thriving for accomplishing your goals? If yes Are you feeling insecure about something? or Are you burdened with something which is not letting you pursue what you really want to? or Are you just not finding a way where you can begin from?
These are some simple questions that can help you know better what it really is that stops you from beginning on the path of your dreams. My friend if it is about not finding a way where you can start from then I think you haven’t really planned for the things that you want to do because in the absence of a way, we often find ourselves lost. So, you must have a well-planned map for accomplishing your dreams. Take it as a mission and do it today.
Secondly, You must define a balance between your heads-up and heads-down activities. Heads-up activities like Planning and making strategy is an exhaustive activity and our minds exhaust a lot of energy on it. So, while making a plan, always remember that you don’t need to stress yourself with that. Ok, let me give you a key to that divide your plan into parts as tiny as you think will be comfortable to achieve. I think that’s enough for Heads-up activities (Planning and Strategy-making)
It is obvious that you will find yourself exhausted after all this brainstorming and it is important for your body and mind to take some res and rest is not just sleeping unconsciously but it is your Me-time and this includes anything and everything that gives you peace and makes you feel energetic. So, it can be anything like meditation, listening music, reading books, movie, playing games etc.
Once you have done all your heads-up work, it is time to do hard work for turning plans into accomplishments. Thriving for your plans and trying every possible thing to achieve your goals and execute your plans is your heads-down work.
Finally, as I was talking about creating balance, let me tell you that you must be aware of Time management. As time is very important, you must devote sufficient time for each and every activity whether it is heads-up activities or heads-down activities or your Me-time. Don’t let yourself more attached to any one of these that you don’t find time for other things.
Ok, I think this will be enough for you to begin with but if there is any different issue like insecurity, over-burden or any fear which is not letting you begin, feel free to share your situation so that we can together find out a better solution to your issues.
At last, Let me put everything into key points:
- Have a proper plan/strategy and break it into parts for your ease
- Take some Me-time to do things that gives you peace and happiness. Things like Meditation, playing games, talking with friends and listening to music etc.
- Working on your plans is important. There is a simple way to do that and it is “executing your plans in parts” as tiny as you are comfortable with.
- Time management is also important. A proper routine, time-table or schedule is very important ( provide sufficient time to each of the activities, remember, “no more, no less”.
- On the way to accomplishing your goals, there will be negativity and exhaustion. I would really recommend you to read some motivation books or watch motivation videos, biographies etc to keep yourself motivated.
- Faith plays a greater role in our life. So whenever and wherever you feel lost, Have faith and never give up.
I Pray for your success and happy life.
Thank You!
